Social Determinants of Addiction 101

On February 22, 2022, AIR will present Social Determinants of Addiction 101, the first webinar in a new series from the AIR Center for Addiction Research and Effective Solutions (AIR CARES).
The series, Social Determinants of Addiction: The 4Ps—People, Policy, Programs, and Practice, features experts in the addiction field and focuses on specific social determinants of health and their relationship to substance use disorder and overdose. The goal of the series is to elevate work that is driven by respect and humility, builds community capacity and sustainable relationships, empowers those whose lives are impacted by that work, improves health, and restores justice.
Social Determinants of Addiction 101 will provide an overview of the series, beginning with a focus on how the social determinants of health are related to addiction. Our panelists will review the key policies that play a role in the field of addiction, discuss the importance of centering the needs of people who use drugs, and provide results from research connecting the social determinants of health to overdose.
Join us for what we expect to be engaging conversations featuring perspectives that span policy, practice, and lived experience.
